Bob covered the Ed's-Iggy dual last night for us. He wrote a recap and we published a big photo gallery.

Take a look at the pictures because that is what every dual should like. A crowded house, the student body, the alumni, and some great wrestling. Kudos to the Eagles for setting the standard on the mat and in the stands.

My Questions -

What can wrestlers, coaches, and fans do to promote and create an environment like what is seen in the gallery?

(I understand that winning helps, but the Eagles have won more state titles in a single year than my HS won in its history and we still were able to fill the gym. I went back two years ago and there were less than 100 people in the stands.)

What Ohio high schools draw some of the the best crowds?

What schools are known for being a hostile environment for the visiting team?

(In college Iowa sets the standard with big crowds (Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and Minnesota also do well) The three duals I went to at Iowa were hostile (Oklahoma State, Minnesota, and Ohio State). Never have been to Stillwater for a dual and only went to Minnesota for the the 2007 OSU-Minn dual) For a small school I have been impressed by Central Michigan for a hostile enviroment. The students really get into it.)

In short, because I have to run, promoting the dual and having something at stake make things exciting. A dual for a dual's sake will eventually wear off. But when a title is on the line or three or four big match-ups take place, then it's on.

Also, I firmly believe that crowds will follow if one team shows up to a visiting arena in MASS!!!

Imagine if ... gotta run.
