Big weekend for Snyderman, Logan and Nato.
Nato was excellent at the US Open but the Wrestling Gods smiled on Ramos. He has the toughest road as he has to win a competitive mini tourney and then beat Ramos 2 out of 3.
Logan sits and waits for a winner. Maple was solid at US Open but he may get a tough Jayson Ness right away. That's my upset special (ness winning) if they meet first round. No one is going to come out of the mini and beat Logan twice.
Good chance that Kyle will see Kyven Gadson in the finals. Hard to imagine anyone beating Kyle but Gadson is big and athletic. It will be fun to see them finally compete again.

Oh, and The Inside Trip's very own - and #DotNet contributor as well as friend of THE Ben Watson - will be attending. I've tweeted at him, tagged him in FB posts, and am mentioning him here all because I'm jealous. If I could spare the time I'd hide in his luggage. Win the day, good sir.
Hank: the Ohio-RTC needs a nice shot in the arm, IMO. Having those three on the World Team would fit the bill

Heflin also had a great US Open. He'll have to win the mini tourney (over David Taylor) then beat J'Den Cox 2 of 3. Nothing's impossible but jeez...

Tony Ramos had an interesting quote, "Tom and Terry better make sure (Thomas Gilman) gets to the finals so I can stomp a mud hole in him!"
No bad blood there...

How will that work with Tom's spirit in Tony's corner?

sounds like Molinaro is also out. No reason given yet why either are out, but one can speculate.

Are you kidding? Logan should go both weights. Or maybe
Reece Hump can come out of retirement?

Haven't seen anything about Molinaro being out. Where is this coming from?

Interesting; the guy that earned a bye to the finals dropped out of the trials. I wonder how many times that's happened before. I'm guessing it was a pretty bad injury?

or positive test for PEDs? There is no mention so far of an injury.
Don't know how they will structure the team trials now. At 65kg,tournament with finals being best of 3 is the only way that makes sense to me.

According to Flo, that is how it will be done. They also mentioned that Oliver plans to petition for a special wrestle-off, similar to what Nick Marable did a couple years ago. They said they don't yet know they reason why he won't wrestle this weekend.

Who do you got?
My picks:
57: Garrett - Ramos has a big advantage sitting in the finals, but I still think Garrett is the best wrestler in the group. NATO will be a player.
61: Logie all day
65: Retherford - We the news that JO won't complete, I like Retherford if Molinaro doesn't get to sit out until the finals. If he does, I give the edge to him.
70: Green
74: Dake - Hard weight to pick. I'm not sure anyone in the US can beat a rested Burroughs. I just have a strange feeling about this weight.
86: Cox - I want D.T. to win but Cox has the advantage of sitting until the finals. If we do not see the Cox from last year's freestyle circuit, I expect D.T. to win.
97: Snyder
125: Gwiz - Similar to other weights, I would go Rey if all things were equal. But, give me Gwiz because he gets to sit.
