Discussion Topic: Questions for Coach Ryan
Steve Durose added to this discussion on February 5, 2017
A few weeks ago, on the official site, there was an interview with Coach Ryan where he was asked about J. Rod's struggles. His answer was that both 125 and 157 had the same problem, "nutrition", essentially saying that both weights weren't managing the cut well causing them to gas in their matches. What I'm wondering is why wrestle Butcher up two weights when our 157 is struggling with the cut? Wouldn't it make more sense for Cody to be at 157, where he'd be at less of a size disadvantage, and Jake at 165 with a better energy level?
My second question, if anyone gets the opportunity to ask, has any consideration been given to starting home duals at 133, as many here have wondered.

Don't both coaches have to agree to start at a different weight than 125?

I thought the rule was that it had to be a random weight to start unless the coaches agreed on a specific weight, but i could be wrong.

You could be...
That said, Ben, you're not!

Every dual meet should end with the most anticipated match of the evening. Every tournament should run the finals the same way. Why have the most anticipated match take place anywhere but the end?
Boxing and the UFC figured this out. Why can't we?
Could even make it fan friendly and have an interactive poll to determine last weight class to be wrestled.
