That's kind of a big deal, no!? 2x AA, former national champ - that's a big whole.

Not to mention the still-mysterious departure of the former head coach.

Weird.

By the video, which the sound was horrendous for me, sounds like an academic problem.

The kid really impressed me in that interview. Owned up to his short comings and had nothing but good things to say about Northwestern or their wrestling program. I was also impressed that he addressed the issue head on instead of letting speculation run wild. The fact that he was also a Biological Science major is impressive too. I am pulling for him.

Sounds like he is going to try and wrestling next year if he can get through the red tape. He is looking at UNI, Iowa State and ASU.

I believe he was ineligible by Northwestern standards and not the NCAA standards.

Unbearable. Actually didn't watch after the first 11 seconds. Figured I'd read it.

His problem will be that, even if released, you have to be in "good academic standing" with the previous school to compete immediately.

If the problem was with Northwestern standards vs. true academic eligibility, perhaps that won't be an issue elsewhere? Good kid that's had a hella struggle lately. Wish him the best!

He mentioned in the video that he is trying to get a waiver from the NCAA on that, considering that NW standards are so much higher than everybody else's to begin with!
