I realize this is a Ohio State board but have to give credit when credit is due Jason Nolf had a great year and is very well deserving of InterMat Freshmen of the Year I Have to say congrats to my son as well for finishing 3rd I realize these awards are based on opinions but if you told me Myles would even be on this list at the beginning of the year I would of been estatic Have to say congrats to my Jersey boys as well Joey McKenna and David McFadden

Very classy, sir. Personally, I disagree with the selection as everything we train for in this sport is where we finish the season. Clearly your son got it done when the chips were down. I do respect the other side of the argument, that the award is based on the totality of the season. Nolf was indeed very dominating in his own regard. It just depends on where the importance is placed for selection. Fantastic season for Myles though. Couldn't be a prouder fan to see his continued development.

well Myles is the only True frosh in top 4 of Nolf, Nickal, McKenna and he has the brass in his hand, enough said.
AWN doing piece on what has been written up by other media as "15 True frosh" to ever win NCAA Div I, but our experts can only identify 14 incl Myles....
who we missing, can ow.netters solve mystery??

I really think it was Markus, josh was a red shirt freshman in finals and Markus is a year behind us, I was a red shirt freshman when he won it, and josh and I are same year bormet was a junior that year and lost to a Msu kid who he beat for third and fourth. That is my memory, but it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong,
Hell it wouldnt be the first time today I was wrong.

Myles finishing behind Nickal seems pretty silly.

Agree, Myles should have won it. Regular season matters some, but winning a title easily erases losses during the season. It is not the Hodge award from what I can tell. Plus he is a true freshman.

These "post season" awards are nothing more than great discussion pieces.
I can see why Nolf would have won this award.
I'd also guarantee that Nolf would trade Myles this award for the NCAA title -- and Myles would never trade the title for this award.
Shows which one is more important in wrestlers minds.

My thoughts exactly, Brady. Myles has the hardware that really counts and that people will remember.
