Very interested to see how Myles Martin, Mark Martin, Kollin Moore and Thomas Haines fare at MSU Open. All of them are entered in the open division of the tournament and their results have implications on the starting lineup.

Also of note, Keshawn Hayes is entered in freshman/sophomore division.

I also noticed Cam Tessari is entered at 157 lbs for Lindsey Wilson.

Read a great article about Tessari (might have been on here). His rise, fall and now rise is very Campbellian.....hope he rails through the entire NAIA, he's a blast to watch.

Quote from Joe Kinzel's post:

Kind of makes more sense given the KSU kids history.

Mark Martin lost in the first round 6-4 to Shawn Scott of NIU.

Kollin Moore teched a kid from Bucknell. If he wins his next two he'd probably gave Wellington from OU.

Thanks, for the update. They must have changed the results. I copied and pasted from the text results. I'll edit my original post.

I saw that Mark Martin is entered at both 174 and 197. I don't recall wrestlers having done this in the past.

Lost to Scott by decision @ 197
Won over Norland by major decision @ 174

frosh/soph division:
125: could see Austin Assad take on winner of Shakur Laney and Hayden Lee in the finals (not guaranteed)
133: possible finals matchup of Jose Rodriguez v Cam Kelly
141: Possible finals matchup of KeShawn Hayes v eli Stickley
165: Seth Williams will take on Austin Reese. JP Newton on other side. Picking Reese to win the weight...

Open Division:
133: Tutolo entered. He seems poised to have a nice season for Kent.
174: Ryan Harris lost first round. Was winning and tired out. Just started wrestling again. My Martin could face Mike Ottinger in finals. Ottinger has been a solid top 15 type guy for CMU.
197: Mark Martin lost first round. Kollin Moore on opp. half will have chance to wrestle some solid people.
285: Haines looks to continue showing what he can do.

Myles Martin has #9 Ottinger from CMU next.

Kollin Moore has #7 Wellington of OU next.

I'm guessing those matches will help the staff make some tough decisions before next Friday's dual.

The wrestler that beat Mark Martin first round is in the semis and has been solid against decent comp. He may just be one of those tough D1 guys that no one knew about until today.

Tessari lost 5-3 to T.J. Ruschell, Wisc. Ruschell has been in and out of their lineup but has some solid results in his career. Let's keep in mind Tessari has not competed in 2-3 years.

Moore is in an uphill battle against a tough Wellington.

If My Mar beats Ottinger, coaches will have a lot to consider.
