Is this a shocker to anyone else? This isn't speculation. Reported on Flo. Thoughts?

Big shocker. I thought he did a very good job esp. given the constraints he was under.

This is HUGE news! A week out from the start of the season!?!?!?!
Rotten in Denmark or not seeing eye to eye with AD. I'm not sure what else it could be especially given the three tweets from Drew P himself (which catapulted his total number to like 8 tweets!).

Given the timing, must be some serious infractions....

Either that or he had some choice words for the AD.

Given his tweets, Hank, I agree with you.

Wrestling coaches don't get fired in October for performance. There's more to this story. Either Pariano broke rules or he had an irreparable falling out with his athletic director.

Pariano couldn't have been more graceful with his comments regarding his exit. On the other hand, the press release from the athletic department read, verbatim, as follows:
"Drew Pariano is no longer with Northwestern University."
Let me stick that into my PR-speak-to-English translator...it comes back with as follows:
"Drew Pariano can go <expletive> yourself."
Even C.D. Mock was fired from North Carolina four months ago with a "we thank him for his service". And Pariano spent five years as head coach at Northwestern, plus five as assistant, plus is an alumnus of the school. I mean, seriously?

I hope Cleveland State rolls out the red carpet and does whatever they can to try to hire Pariano. He might be a good coach and recruiter in his old Northeast Ohio territory. No offense to coach Stehura, but some more fresh blood might be helpful.

I thought the same thing. Pariano's statement was polished and full of gratitude. Northwestern's was terse and to the point. It will be interesting to see if any more comes out in the fullness of time.
It's not as if the cupboard is bare in Evanston with Tsirtsis and Johnny Sebastian.

I would love to see Drew Pariano coaching in Ohio regardless of the school.

Hank: Perhaps you ought to sit down with Drew over a brisket sandwich and talk about his options going forward.

Ben: The brisket sandwich is 10.95. The consultation is free. Let him know
