On the other hand, the press release from the athletic department read, verbatim, as follows: "Drew Pariano is no longer with Northwestern University." Let me stick that into my PR-speak-to-English translator...it comes back with as follows: "Drew Pariano can go <expletive> yourself." Even C.D. Mock was fired from North Carolina four months ago with a "we thank him for his service". And Pariano spent five years as head coach at Northwestern, plus five as assistant, plus is an alumnus of the school. He might be a good coach and recruiter in his old Northeast Ohio territory. Pariano's statement was polished and full of gratitude. Northwestern's was terse and to the point. It will be interesting to see if any more comes out in the fullness of time.
