Thanks for sharing Bob. Indeed, one of the greats.

apparently he was a brainy very educated man, a NASA engineer, a family man-- he seemed like a class guy, congenial fellow, when i saw him at Baumgartner clinic.
He had come to meet Baumgartner.
He was a 3X Olympian unbeaten in America in both styles for a decade!! and no one knew who he was, except the always savvy Frank Jayne asked him "You're Bill Kerslake aren't you?"
he was not just a "jock" or a guy whose whole life was wrestling, he apparently had another very full life. Hats off.

Well said, Bob. Sounds like he was a man who experienced excellence in a number of areas. The best to his family and friends.

After visiting the HOF in Stillwater in the fall of 1986, I wrote to Bill Kerslake and got this answer:
"Thank you for your letter and photos taken in the Wrestling Hall of Fame. I miss not having my medals to show my grandsons, but feel rewarded to have them shown in Stillwater. It is surprising how many people have visited the "Hall" that say they have seen my picture there."
I never met Kerslake, but he seems to be the kind of guy you wish you'd known.
