I can see a lot more matches being determined by the official's judgement calls on stalling. Hate, hate, hate the new stalling on the outbounds. Too hard to determine who is really "pushing" and who is "letting themselves be pushed for a fresh start". Two guys hand fight. Fingers get interlocked. Too tough to figure out who is initiating the lock. Another official judgement call. I do like the new Near Fall points though... I think the freestyle push out rule would be a lot better than the new folkstyle rules. Yeah-it would be tough to lose an NCAA finals match because you stepped out of bounds, and occasionally you see some sumo type action, but for the most part, from what I've seen, the wrestlers know the rules and try very hard to wrestle with there butt towards the middle of the mat. Most of the subjectivity is gone and the ref just needs to figure out who stepped out first.        Discussion Topic: 2015-2016 NCAA wrestling rules video Jim Behrens added to this discussion on October 2, 2015 I watched the video last night and all I can say is that I am glad I am not doing NCAA stuff anymore. I noted a couple of statements made in the video that I sent to my son. They were: Interlocking fingers: "You must make a stall call on who you THINK is causing the action." YOW!!! Looks nice and easy in the video but the real world is quite a bit different. Heck, it isn't easy to figure out who might be causing a head butt. According the the coaches, it is always the other guy. Must make a "substantial" effort to circle in bounds? WTH is that? Since I have zero ability to judge "intent", how do I make this determination? Plus they now get a few more hand signals to use that are pointless. I especially like the signal for a possible concussion. The one for "action" is pretty good too.        ► Add to the Discussion
