I'm still in awe. Last night I received a dozen or so text messages about Kyle's win. (Two came from people I didn't even know knew much about the sport; mainly that I was loosely involved with the sport somehow.) My first response to all of them was unreal. I just cannot believe what he accomplished! Logan and Dake are both 4-timers, but who knows if they will ever be World Free Champs Both are 'extreme' accomplishments with slightly different skill sets and rules. - Dominance in one discipline doesn't necessarily imply domination on the other stage! However, I do like Kyle's chances to win some NCAA titles 'if and when' he comes back to collegiate wrestling. QUESTION: Since he has risen to the top echelon of freestyle wrestling, is there real motivation to return to collegiate wrestling? - I would imagine it would depend on the individual and what their real goals in life are?        Discussion Topic: kyle snyder..WORLD CHAMP Hank Kornblut added to this discussion on September 13, 2015 College wrestling needs significant rules changes IMO. I have been to 10 Bigs and 8 ncaas and I have never seen such exciting wrestling from start to finish. Kyle's match and the Chamizo's title match were truly two of the most thrilling matches I have seen. Comebacks with throws were not uncommon so a match seemed never to be out of reach. The atmosphere in the arena was awesome. Would love to see college wrestling get there. I still feel an ability to escape a hold and being able to control an opponent should be rewarded but I think that could be worked out. Also why can't women's freestyle become a college sport? Seems to me it would solve a lot of problems with Title IX for wrestling.
