Discussion Topic: Where-O, where-o is our old friend Dano?
Bob Preusse added to this discussion on August 7, 2015

Quote from Chris Shepherd's post:

"After the Pletcher announcement right before the Rousey fight I think we need some news to pick us all back up so we can motor through the remaining summertime period. Bob, what's Dano got today? Anything at all? :)"

well Chris, appears ohio st wont get Suriano, thus they puting all their hopes on Hall to go with Pletcher for this years senior class -- and hoping for a couple good walkons.

Buckeyes will be in the Lee and Fix sweepstakes a year from now. -- as stands today JRod the 125man if & when Tomo moves up..

u mention Rousey, no one has mentioned the "crush" Cardale Jones has on Rousey-- they were texting at the Espy's, she definitely knows who he is. Cardale seemed smitten, would be quite a pair !

If Bucks get Hall, it's a great recruiting class. One of the most amazing high school wrestlers I've ever seen. He'd be arguably the best recruit in school history. Of course, Logan has set an incredibly high standard but Hall has the goods to take a run at similar accomplishments.

he wont win 4 but Snyder --along with Logan -- perhaps the best recruit in school history -- TommyR up there close to those two.

time will tell Hall could be in that class, "true greatness" is a burden that must be proven and re-proven every single year..

Suriano to Penn st, 90% chance, but Iowa lurking.

"He won't win four..."

There was a time when winning four state titles in Ohio was considered a holy grail of sorts. Then Zimmer did it and a significant number have followed. I expect the same to start happening in D1. Martinez is on the clock. So is Nato. Hall and Lee strike me as having similar potential.

Hank,
Martinez & Tomo got loooooooong way to go to win 4--
could be several decades before its done again.

everything has to go right- as it did in Logan's case- yes he was superb and superbly prepared but bad luck, injury or a Jordan Oliver could have de-railed him. So many things can knock a guy out and usually do. Many great wrestlers have not won even one.

this could be like the horse racing Triple Crown, was usually achieved 2 or 3 times a decade, but then after Affirmed in about 1978 it wasnt achieved again until 2015 with American Pharoa, 4 decades later.

Same for the Triple Crown in baseball, Cabrera of the Tigers did it 2 years ago but before that it hadnt been done since Frank Robinson and Carl Yastremski in the mid 60s, almost 50 years.

don't know Hank, maybe u right-- however theres no telling, people often assume things will happen much faster & more often than they do.

who would have guessed in 1999 that the Browns would have made playoffs once only for 1 game, here we are in 2015 and still going nowhere. Who predicted it?

in 1964 when Cleveland was booming who would have guessed 51 years later no more major league championships?

in 1941 when Ted Williams last hit .400 (actually .406) who would have guessed 75 years later no one has since done it?

About 8 years ago when TIGER WOODS won his last major, it was widely "ASSUMED" by now he would have surpassed Jack Nicklaus' 18 career majors, but Tiger is still stuck on 14 and going no where. Who predicted it?

The history book is full of "who would have guessed assumptions" that have never so far happened again.

picture clearing up, so i tweeted Dano, caught him between shows-- he says he's big Trump supporter, he thinks Trump will make him a headliner in one of his casinos. Dano say grandma Hillary should be baking cookies not running for prez.

i asked Dano question: Jared Cortez to Penn St, does this effect Suriano decision? Where ohio st stand now?

Dano say Cortez zero effect. He says Suriano will commit soon to Penn st, be a 2 year 125 and then redshirt a year to move to 133 once Cortez graduates.

Ohio St out of Suriano sweepstakes, happy with Pletcher and hoping for Mark Hall. --- Need either Lee or Fix next year.

I maintain that kids don't set decision dates without knowing where they are going. If Ohio State thought they had Hall when he set the date, then there is an excellent chance they land him.

Hope he does well today at Jr. Worlds. Watching Snyder win a Sr. medal certainly won't hurt!

Jason, I'd agree with you had he set his announcement date for, say, next week. But he's doing it in October, a few weeks before signing day. He knows he's gonna commit somewhere, right?

That said, all signs indicate OSU is in a good spot. Bob P, who is never wrong, said it was a done deal, though Bob has since toned down his optimism. The guys at Flo say they know which way Hall's leaning.

Mark Hall is Ohio State's to lose, but Cael and others will not go down without one hell of a fight. Hall will be the most coveted high school recruit in a long time.

Drew,
lol, ive been wrong, i picked the Indians to have a good season.

but Hall likes ohio st alot, and yes i did tone down my confidence the more i pondered fact he isn't commiting until Oct/November.

however i'm not thinking penn st is the main comp, i'm hearing its MN or NEB (the Burroughs factor)if not the buckeyes.

in Brazil, Spencer Lee in finals-- Mark Hall lost close match to Nagy of Hungary who wrestled in Iowa a few years back, btw.

Lee showing again today that he is special. What a performance in Brazil.

Fix - interesting that OSU is in on him. So talented that he has to be recruited, but it would be quite a coup to steal him from Ok. State. His style seems to align directly to the Smith school of wrestling and he is a local boy. If Fix isn't showing legit and sincere interest, I think time could be spent best elsewhere.

Fix dad wr for okla st too, so odds long however Fix has unofficially visited ohio st already. ---its not the old buckeyes, this program on another level now.
