Sounds like it's a done deal based on the interview. Who's going to step in Synder place at 197#?

A) Move up Courts and Mark Martin.
b) Martin pulls a Heflin and lifts all the way to 197.
c) Kollin Moore.
d) Nick Tavanello loses a lot of weight.

It is hard to believe that this kid is in his early 20s. His maturity, class, humility, and wrestling IQ seem off the charts.

I hope the best for this young man.

Honestly, I am pulling for B first and then D as a second option.

I don't want to see Courts bump up, as he has never seemed overly strong for 184, and moving him up might erase all of the progress from NCAAs.

I think Kollin Moore is going to be a very good wrestler at Ohio State, just not as a freshman at 197.

Technically he is only 19. Won't be 20 until November of this year.

Just sayin...

Does anyone out there feel that a mix of folkstyle and freestyle in a season is not such a bad thing?

It sure didn't seem to hurt Kyle's freestyle performance this year.

i think Mark Martin will wrestle 197 and if he does who fills in at 174

Myles or Moore

Olympics once every 4 years - stakes too high to do both. Take the ORS year.

Dan: Good call. I heard C-Py wrong. I thought he corrected himself at the 1:40 mark, but rather, he threw in a catch all.

Well if they don't do something like move everyone up a weight class so they can have both Jake and Hunter in the lineup I think it will be either Ryan Harris (had a pretty decenct redshirt year) or Dominic Prezzia who filled in a couple of times last year. I think they both wrestled 165 so I don't know if one is more likely to bulk up than another.

I saw Tavanello at Giant Eagle yesterday and he looked much leaner...maybe option d. will be a reality???

Snyder could be gone for TWO years. Olympic Redshirt next season and regular redshirt the year after. Snyder should do what ever he thinks is necessary to make the team.

Folkstyle can wait.

I agree. He beat the Gold Medalist two months after the finals. He will have another two and a half months on top of that to prepare for the Olympics if he makes the team.

It certainly should be his choice. He has earned it.

Tav at 197 is interesting. He is the epitome of a tweener: a little undersized at heavy, maybe too big for 197.
