Team USA is wrestling well right now. Started off with a strong 6-2 win against a solid Cuban team with the highlight being Ed Ruth's monster comeback against 2x World Silver, Salas. Score was 22-13!
Then, last night we rallied to beat Russia on criteria 17-16. Match split was 4-4. Everything came down to Tervel and he had to pin or tech without his opponent scoring any points and he did it 10-0!
Still in the running to win it right now. Have to get past Mongolia today and then the winner of Iran/Azerbaijan in the finals.

The dual with Russia was a lot of fun to watch. Both teams and benches were into the action, reminding me that the dual format is great for the sport.

Marable loses 3 - 1.
Burroughs wins by tech, 10 - 0.

Wonder what's up with Coleman Scott. He was unable to hold leads against Cuba and Iran. Got up big against Iran then faded. Is this the same Iranian who had 2 comeback wins over Reece?

That dual with Iran was incredible scrapping at every class. Iran is ridiculous and pushes for their positions. America was game, just fell short. A lot of fun to watch.
I watched on line, I just wish I was more familiar with the athletes for other countries.

To read along on twitter - what some I follow were tweeting - you'd think there was a fantasy league out there for stuff like this and they everything about them. Past matches, strengths, weaknesses - heck some knew how to pronounce their names, correcting the commentators one tweet at a time!

I read that Tervel is ensuring his body is 100% as he moves towards the World championships. I do not know either way if there is an injury or not.

He wrestled in multiple duals that weekend (his tech over Russia got the W for the US of A).

I believe the guy Metcalf beat was the one whom Reece wrestled at Worlds for Iran...

Any idea why Ruth didn't wrestle against Iran? How can you expect to beat the best if you do not put your best on the mat?
