I was curious on how they do the seeding. Is it based off last years results or based off of this years?

Side note I. Jordan was pinned today by Moreno from Iowa State.

So this weekend Jordan gets pinned, add to that Ness loses, Delgado loses, Gilman lost twice & Garret loses, wow! Crazy.

not quite true -- rankings are Not supposed to be a factor. Last seasons record Not supposed to factor either. Rather THIS SEASONS big ten conference records are the main criteria. Furthermore:

...Seeds are based only on the head coaches votes.
...The big ten sends to each head coach every big ten conference teams record so coaches can use that info.
...Every head coach submits a ballot.
...No secret ballots. Every coach gets to see every submitted ballot.
...Theres a pre-seed several days before big tens that can be appealed. Each head coach with a complaint gets to make his case. A revote can then occur if the appeal has merit. This is not often done. Pre-seed usually stands.

This indicates to me no seed for Hunter if he wrestles. ...s/BobP

James: I'll most likely edit this post a few times as a read through your list of names.

125: I'm sure there is a reason you have NaTo in front of Delgado (ILL) - is that due to record?

133: Good nightthat is a deep class. One cannot afford a slip up on Saturday morning. (And since I'm a homer, I'll list the "one" as Johnni.)

141: I wonder if Dardanes (MINN) will change his plan of attack. (My guess is that if he does, it could open things up for Logan, but again, I'm a homer.) And if Gibbons and Johnson call that kid Jevva one more time, I'm going to hunt them down!

149: Impressive. I hope Hunter's been attacking his lungs.

157: I tihnk this weight class will be worth the price of admission!!! Lights out across the board with wrestlers who can bring it! (Demas and Alton have shown flashes; just less consistency than the other top guys.)

165: Walsh (IND) - the Enigma. Pins a guy one day, gets TECHED the next time they wrestle.

Based on those criteria Hunter should still be seeded.

The only facts to be considered should be:

1. Hunter is injured, thus why he wrestled almost no matches.

2. Hunter, while clearly still injured and lacking fitness, nearly defeated Sorenson.

3. Hunter, while still injured and lacking fitness, defeated Beitz rather easily.

I think James has him in the right spot.

Taylor Massa, Michigan, wrestled 174 his last match then missed his next one. Don't see how he can go 165 and I think he's injured. I just don't know how badly.

133 in Big Tens if very tough.

good points Sean, will be interesting to see how 13 other big ten coaches handle this situation.

If Hunter isn't seeded then wouldn't the same apply to Delgado?

I didn't mean national ranking. You summed up what I was trying to imply.
