Discussion Topic: OHSAA Sectional seeding criteria
Brady Hiatt added to this discussion on February 27, 2015

Luke, I couldn't agree more with what you said.

I'm at a complete loss to understand those that want strict criteria seeding only. Even only being able to challenge on basis of head to head or common tournament placement is crazy. As you mentioned, strength of schedule is thrown out the window.

I'm opposed to objection of must have a .500 record to be seeded on same basis. I'll give you a scenario: Kid has a sub .500 record but he beat three of the seeds (4,5,6). Why sub.500, schedule is really tough. Now he will most likely get randomly drawn into 1,2,or 3 seed in quarters, then most likely he'd have to beat one of the top 3 seeds to make the district tourney. In a normal seed mtg, He should/would have been fourth seed and barring an upset, wouldn't have to beat one of them to advance. But, never mind, cream rises to top and we are only concerned with those guys that make that state tournament right?
