There seems to be A LOT of hype surrounding this matchup. That lead me to think about match ups in the past that have been hyped/anticipated this much.
What other matches, in the internet/wrestling forum age can you think of that have been so eagerly anticipated? Dake vs Taylor came to mind immediately. Any other great match ups you can think of?

There's hype but nothing like the amount that we'd see if Logan and Port (either one) wrestled for Iowa or PSU. Those two schools draw the lion's share of on-line attention.
Saw an interview with Port on FLO. To be blunt--he's nerdy. But I also think he's unafraid of anyone. Not in a Tony Ramos bravado manner but he's very analytical. He's almost like Mr. Spock from Star Trek. All things being equal, Logan will beat him. But if Logan is a little off--and we've seen that the last few weeks--an upset is possible.

Dake/Taylor was worth every bit of the hype, IMO.

I'm excited for this match. Port presents a tough match-up for Logan with his length and strength. Very good defense. Still , I think this is much like last year with Retherford where Logan hit a tough spot health-wise. I think this gets him back on track from a dominance standpoint. 9-3 win.
We just expect so much out of him. If Logan weren't at the weight I think Port wins it easily. He stoned Carter.

Roe: I agree that we expect too much out of Logan. He's not superman. He's a sensational wrestler but he's human and will have the occasional clunker. And that's ok.
Everyone is vulnerable to a certain style? Does Port possess it? We'll see.
(FWIW, I don't think so.)

Logan, unless still recovering from his illness, wins comfortably. If still ailing, a closer victory. No one at 141 has a punchers chance at a healthy Stieber, that simple. Port beat Carter, barely. Carter did all of the attacking and came VERY close to scoring on 3 or 4 occasions. Port's offense was non existent until later in the match when Carter seemed a little gassed due to his constant attacking early on. Don't forget, Carter had just made the cut back down to 141, that's a huge factor. Come March, I'll take carter by 3 or 4.

I just don't see this dual being close at all. OSU, for all the angst (me included), has a great dual team. Something like 24-9.

One that stands out for sure was the matchup between a freshman Dustin Schlatter and defending NCAA champ Zack Esposito in the 2005-06 season. And after Dustin shocked the world in that Vegas final, the number of threads immediately created over on another website was unreal.
