There is a large contingent of redshirting Buckeyes wrestling at the Purple Raider Open. Of note, Micah Jordan is down at 149 and Jake Ryan is up at 157.
Seth Williams and Ryan Harris are both at 174.

Micah is down at 149? Very interesting. How often does a wrestler drop a weight during a redshirt season? Can't help but wonder if the Bucks are considering pulling his redshirt and inserting him in the lineup and that today is a test to see how he competes at the weight.

Pulling Micah's RS makes no sense to me at all. Languis is a solid, not great by any means, but serviceable. Not sure that Micah is a significant upgrade.

Micah will remain a redshirt, I truly believe that. Hunter is just not healthy,and not ready to go yet.Doesnt mean he wont be ready come Big Tens

Jason: I completely agree with you. Randy beat Micah in the wrestle off a few months back. I know Micah is continuing to get better and may even be able beat Randy now (just a guess). Unless Micah has shown he is substantially better, it wouldn't make sense to forego his his redshirt.

Just to be clear--I'm not suggesting the Bucks should yank Micah out of redshirt. While I suspect he has surpassed Languis, there's no certainty that he's capable of doing well at Big Tens and NCAA's. I was just pointing out how curious I find it to see him down a weight from where he started.
In fairness--the coaches see him every day. Maybe they know something we don't.
Best scenario--Hunter is able to wrestle and win.
