He hits a lefty firemans. It's so amazing. He's a three time NCAA Champion going up against a fantastic opponent and he hits a move I have never seen him do. Certainly not in college. Nobody hits a firemans in college. But Logan does it in the Vegas finals against Devin Carter.

As it was loading I made the mistake of reading some comments. I got about four down and realized that people are STILL talking about the Oliver match.

Dude! I'm not a huge fan of Frozen, but LET IT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Against anyone else Carter looks formidable...Logan may that look easy.

Yeah, people like to denigrate Logan for the Oliver match, along with the Ramos finals match. (Yak Attack practically had a coronary over that one.)

The bottom line:

Logan will win his fourth, and join college wrestling's Mt. Rushmore with Pat Smith, Cael Sanderson and Kyle Dake.

Each has his own, special distinction:

Pat Smith: The 1st
Cael Sanderson: 159-0
Kyle Dake: Four different weight classes

Logan? Assuming what we're all assuming:

Logan Stieber: Four-time Big Ten and four-time NCAA champ.

He'll be the first.

OK, end of rant. Back to the movie.

Doug:

Another thing people routinely forget in arguments like this: if you think you're so much better than your opponent don't wait until 10 seconds left in the match to take one of your few shots of the entire seven minutes. Same with other sports. You have the whole game/match to win.

Logan took it to him early and kept pressure on the whole time, in my opinion. He deserved to win.

He shares that in common with Smith, Sanderson, and Dake.

However only Sanderson, besides Logan, won four state titles.

Unfortunately, in their combined high school and college careers, Logan has 3 more losses than Cael (as best as I can figure).

Beyond the fact that he was undefeated, was Sanderson's matches more dominant, point wise than Logan's? InterMat put out a statistics article for wrestlers last year with David Taylor and Logan coming in at #1 and #2.

I feel like Stieber's opponent his frosh year was by far the toughest of any of these guys. That first title can be the toughest. As a frosh, he was already a bonus point machine who beat a guy in Oliver who many people were calling the best overall wrestler in the country at the beginning of the year. Recall that early in that year, Oliver collected something like 13 pins in a row.

Despite this, Logan's losses kind of eliminate him from conversations about having THE best college career of all time, in my opinion. He ain't bad, though.

Logan has had to wrestle his whole collegiate career in the Big Ten.

The other three, as great as they obviously were, wrestled in comparatively weaker conferences.

Pat and Kyle might have had a few more losses had they wrestled in the Big Ten.

Cael? Naw. He'd still have been undefeated.
