Both won titles at EMU Open. Jake Ryan continues to impress when you consider he was not a stud coming out of high school. Seems to have a huge upside judging by how he's looked so far.

Micah remains unbeaten but was tested by Jake Salazar and Jacob Danishek. Salazar has been a spot starter for Michigan for a few years while Danishek is, well, Danishek.

Good job by both young men.

Austin Reese finished a strong 5th at 165 with only one loss.

Mike Labry (Ashland) was champ at 133.

Jake Ryan is impressive when you consider how little time he has been wrestling. When you consider that and then see that he was a state runner-up as a senior in OH in D1....one might just call him a stud. The kid has all of the potential of his father. Who knows whether he will realize it....

OSU has more depth than most people realize. Not necessarily people who could jump in this year, but several who can be impact wrestlers in the next four years. Obviously Haines & Micah Jordan, but also guys like Ryan, Harris, will be a nice compliment with the good recruiting class we have coming in.

TOSU seems to have found a better direction in its recruiting. Going after and getting some of the blue chippers as well as building a better base of second level guys that are talented as well as motivated. I believe some of these can and will have positive impact not just in the room but in the lineup as they gain in maturity and experience.

Nice to see. Any insight as to what's going on with JP Newton and Seth Williams?

Reese made one mistake and cost him the match he lost. Champ at his weight was kid he beat in quarterfinals at the MSU Open.

MJ vs. J.D. match was great again. They'll match up sooooo many times in their careers. This is going to be a very good rivalry.

Brady, you did a nice job with Reese, and I think he has potential to do some good things in his career.

Thanks Chris. I fully expect him to be an AA for the Bobcats.

Hopefully a three time runner up (to a certain Buckeye), and then a champ as a senior!
