Ohio State is apparently going with Thomas Haines this year. You read that correctly. So Tavanello comes out.

That's very interesting.

When I watched Thomas Haines wrestle in high school it was clear that he was a very good wrestler and had great physical attributes but there were still some flaws in his wrestling which I thought an experienced wrestler like Tavenello would be able to exploit. Perhaps Haines has been able to make the necessary adjustments in the practice room and was able to beat Tavenello in a wrestle off.

Thomas Haines is rumored to have an injury, some say will keep him out for the year. I did some social media stalking and it appears as though there is at least some small truth to this.

I saw it and would sure like that clarified....Bob?

I did send Nick a message about it directly. Not sure when he'll find time to answer.

This really frustrates me with coaches. I don't understand why who is starting or who might be dinged up has to be such a big secret. This is how you end up with one story that Haines is starting and another that says he's out for the year.

Tavenello is the starter. Confirmation from Eleven Warriors saying Tavanello is staring over Haines.

C.P. mentions they got it from the interview coach Ryan did with 11warriors.

Nick sent me a note back and said he has no idea where they got that info and that Haines is indeed injured regardless.

That's interesting, cause the article clearly states that Tavanello is the starter.

If it does now then they changed it because it originally had Haines listed as the starter

this whole thing seems odd to me. first, it seems flo ran with something solely based on an article from another web site. 2nd, I have to think the eleven warriors article had haines simply as a mistake. I don't see how haines could have been given starter status without even wrestling off tavanello. it's been known that haines has been injured for awhile, he didn't partipcate in the wrestle offs or the msu open, so when exactly has he had time to win the spot.

Talked with 11W yesterday and they just got off the phone with Tom. Tom said he meant to say Tavanello in the article and not Haines. Tavanello was on the poster for the year and Tom had mentioned all freshman minus Snyder were redshirting this year.
