Forgive me for not double checking my post in my excitement. Although you never know with the NCAA.....

Yeah, Cory! Don't give the NCAA any ideas! I certainly wouldn't put it past FILA.

Congrats to the Bucks and Ke-Shawn Hayes. Great news. He's a terrific wrestler.

KeShawn not 157--- plan is assuming he is capable for him to start next year at 141, eventually may grow to 149, maybe.

RS next year only if coaches think he cannot help next year. --that was the rub, he wanted RS, somehow Ryan overcame that to get his verbal. i believe Ryan may have promised him a RS eventually but not next year.
(all according to Dano of course). ...s/BobP

Bob: in this day of most kids wanting to start right away, any idea why Hayes felt the need to RS. Acclimate to college? Get bigger? Etc.?

Kolodzik beat Ke-Shawn 4-0 at the Who's #1 and Zahid Valencia beat Myles Martin 3-1 in OT.

Which is why I demand #KolodzikToOhioState

hats off nice win Kolodzik however i'm guessing, that Kolodzik has received superior competition at Blair-- i'm sure he has worked with the master Jeff Buxton who has his own club nearby.

potential for KeShawn is great, he has innate quickness, i like KeShawn.

re Zahid, he will go for his 4th Ironman title in a loaded 182 class here and Myles Martin will stand in his way, rather dramatic i would say. --KeShawn will get another shot at Kolodzik here too.

I don't pay for Flo, did anyone watch the bouts? 4-0 seems pretty clear cut, but anybody have a feel on the OT bout at 182? Was it as close as the score? Is it likely to stay the same if they meet again or go the other way? Any close calls or great action?

Even though Ohio State's TWO #1 ranked recruits lost, it would seem they have as much or more upside than the people that beat them. I'm not saying they're Raw, far from it. These kids are so far ahead of anything I could imagine at their age...but as Mr. Preusse points out, Kolodzik has spent a few years with some of the best coaching in america, and Valencia is truly special.

If someone did see the matches, I'd love the details of Valencia/Hall as well.

I watched the matches....I didn't take notes so every detail escapes me but......Kolodzik got a solid takedown and rode Hayes like crazy....very convincing win. MYles Martin had at least 4 very deep shots that he probably converts 95% of the time....Zahids defense was phenomenal. As for mark hall....I'm not even sure the match was as close as the score...He completely shut Valencia down...jacked up double unders into take downs twice and rode him out...turning him for 3. He has come a long way from 2 years ago when he needed ot to beat an eds kid at the clash.

Actually, that win against Eds may have come against Schiedel, which in hindsight is a pretty good win for a HS freshman as Schiedel has continued to improve into a very good d1 wrestler.
