Discussion Topic: Question for Dano
Jason L. Jackson added to this discussion on October 1, 2014

Dear Dano:

You had alluded to two announcements being made soon. Martin was clearly one, but just wondered about the other. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not affiliated with Dano but I'll offer a guess. I think Bucks are hoping to land Ke-Shawn Hayes. I know Ohio State is one of several schools he's trying to decide between.

Hayes is tremendous...same level as Martin for sure...and would be a nice "get" after Bucks were unable to land Piccinni (sp).

Incidentally, I read an article about Vincenzo Joseph of PA, who committed to PSU. Evidently Bucks were one of several top programs trying to get him.

Dano says yes ohio state awaits KeShawn Hayes (141) of missouri decision, its between ohio st and penn st -- not the school u want to be vying for a recruit with but alas it is what it is.

it may be more than a school preferance, at ohio st he would start next year at 141, at penn st he would RS.

ohio st liked Vincezo Joseph & he liked them alot, but ohio st had no big need if he was a 157 where presumably Micah Jordan will wrestle when the time comes..

Hayes might have to sit multiple years at Penn State, as Retherford will only be a sophomore next year, and could potentially RS this year.

Also, Hayes would have to beat Burcher next year to start. Don't count out my Mustang!!!!

Bob - Thank you very much for providing recruiting nuggets. This is an almost untapped market in wrestling, and there is an appetite.

Football and basketball have entire sites and staffs dedicated to recruiting. While it will never be that impactful in wrestling, I still find it fascinating.

So please thank Dano for me.

Dano says u welcome-- sadly as time drags on, ohio st odds in favor decline, was thought to be 2/1 ohio st, now only 50/50.

ohio st has things i would think would give them edge, opening at 141, opportunity to train with Logan Stieber, but the sheer power of penn st is scary.

Does Dano have any idea where Kolodzic may be leaning? Is TOSU still in the running or is it going to be Ivy.

Dano no hear anything re Kolodzik, i think means no ohio st.

on positive note Dano does hear Jake Ryan is looking very good at 149. If he can take hold of the wt it helps the scholarship situation.

Thank me later but I followed Martin on twitter the day before he committed. Thought I would try the same with Hayes yesterday and today he commits!! Who should I go follow next??? Lol we still looking for a 33 right or is that Rodriquez?? I think this solidifies a top 5 team/championship contender for the next 5 years at least! #gobucks
