Discussion Topic: Wrestling Lag Time Topic: Hit Reality TV Show

I've always thought creating a "reality" TV show entitled, "First World Problems" would be widely popular.

It would essentially mock "reality" TV by creating "drama" over "first world problems" (I don't know which of my 30 dresses to wear, fighting over parking spaces, I'm sick from being a glutton, etc), but never admit it is satirical or intended to mock.

However, I think I've got a better pilot for a "reality" TV show which I would entitle, "Niemann, Go!"

Camera crews would follow Mark as he simply lives out his serendipitous existence, emphasizing his passions (family, wrestling, social media, hot foods, old skool rap, etc).

Add in the cast of characters represented @ #dotnet (Mr. Brisket, Grandpa Ironman, The Intellectual T-Rex, The Good Doctor, Double F, among many, many interesting and noteworthy members of the forum) and I suspect we'd have a hit of Biblical proportions that would do waaaaayyyy more for amateur wrestling than most of our other "initiatives".

Niemann, go!

I laughed.

We also have The Unknown Dernlan Brother (Hiatt) and, occasionally, I refer to Double F (Feeney) as F2 (F Squared...not sure yet, we'll get it worked out in editing).

Niemann, go!

Thanks for reminding me again that I never won a state title.

Funny, we refer to him as Double F too. Likely we use it a little differently.

Am I the "meat professional?" I thought I was the annual host of the Ohio Amateur Wrestling Writers luncheon.

So I'm sitting in Cracker Barrell, just east of Birmingham, Alabama, scrolling through as my breakfast company has left to play checkers... And I'm laughing, almost uncontrollably, with tears flowing from my eyes. The other 15 people we came with, scattered throughout the restaurant are kind of staring, wondering what I'm doing.

This is classic stuff, and I'd do it in a heartbeat!

The food was great. Eggs, scrambled, with cheese, side of bacon, and pancakes.

While sitting at the table, the kids gone for checkers again, I noticed a lot of odd pictures on the wall. Old gas signs, soda signs, soaps, and directly in front of me, a calendar advertising Mangolia - the most trusted name in lubricants.

This got me thinking... Were all these ads real?

So I did a quick search on the calendar...FAKE! It's all a lie.

See what I mean?

This would be a genius first episode of "Niemann, Go!".

"Mark gets notification that his 'reality' show has been approved by Discovery; he ponders the imponderables @ an obscure Cracker Barrel in Greenbow, Alabama. Are the ads real? How will fame and fortune effect him? How will he use his $35K per episode to steward amateur wrestling? Irony and hilarity ensue once he starts contacting the #dotnet family..."

She has probably actually said that. The Dernlans treated us all like family.

Then she followed it up with, "Buck up, little camper. Maybe Matt and Steve will show you some 'moves' and you'll have a State Championship just like your brothers..." : )
