Is it that it's made by Nike or that it looks like a cup that holds you back?

It's the Nike factor. I haven't bought a Nike product since Oregon dropped. I'm afraid that my resolve is waning. All lacrosse sticks look like cups, ps.

Until then, Nike can go pound rocks.
If your resolve is weakening, perhaps you are a weak, lilly-livered, spineless, gutless wonder who should look into swearing off wrestling!!!
Or just rethink the purchase. Whatevs.

True. It makes me feel better about buying jersies online from Chinese factories that haven't paid licensing fees.

That's why you won't see my in Ohio State gear. You will see me in scarlet and red (go LeBron!) but nothing with Ohio State.
I'm still holding out for Maryland's entrance into the B1G to shake up things in the way of Under Armour!!!

Pat - if it makes you feel any better. I'm wearing a Nike polo right now. All my gym shoes are Nike. I have many Ohio State Nike shirts. I have the Nike therma-fit sweatpants and sweatshirts.
So hate away. I just like the swoosh. PS my wrestling shoes are Asic but if say Logan Stieber who's been wearing Nike wrestling shoes since high school had his own shoe I'd buy them too.

I wear (wore) Nike wrestling shoes because I like the way they fit. If I started not using products that were produced by companies who have business practices I don't agree with, I would have to first do all the research as to what different companies do. I assume if I did the research and then stuck to my principles, I wouldn't be able to use anything. Ignorance is bliss, I guess?

I'm not sold it's JUST a business practice I disagree with. It's not so much under the huge umbrella of business practices I don't agree with. But rather, a narrowed down search of "Owners of a business who go out of there way to cut a sport I happen to (overly) enjoy and do so in a dishonest manner all the while (trying to) profit from the sale of articles of clothing or equipment in the very sport they cut" category.

Niemann hit it on the head there. A lot of people like to bash clothing manufacturers for things like using low wage labor, etc. But those things are unavoidable. Try finding shoes made in America. If you do, look at the price tag. The Asian labor thing is so overblown anyway. China has developed labor standards and a middle class. They pay their workers well enough that many manufacturers have moved out of China and into Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. in search of cheaper labor. It's capitalism. It's a subject that has been studied extensively. The book How China Became Capitalist is a good read on the subject. If that happened in China, it can and likely eventually will in Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. The search for the cheapest labor is cyclical. We have seen the return of tech support jobs the United States and some manufacturing, too. The cost benefit is decreasing as Asian countries are establishing wage demands.
That said, I don't tolerate organizations that have a hand in the death of my favorite sport.
