#bookemdano heard some chorus girls talking about the purdue job between shows, they seemed to think its maybe Lanham from Duke, Tony Ersland or Tony Robie from Virginia Tech. Just girl talk.

I actually sent him an email. He responded. Aside from a typo, he stated that the candidates were not a secret.

Droppin' like flies... Eiter resigns at Penn.
His team wasn't in bad shape and they weren't in a drought. He stated that he doesn't have the energy anymore required to keep up with the demands of a Division 1, Ivy League team. I can respect that... step aside and let someone with the skill set, passion, and energy take the torch.

problem is his predecessor ROGER REINA built a powerhouse at U of Penn over 2 decades there from mid 80s to about 2005. Reina got top recruits like Yoshi Nakamura and Mason Lenhard from st Eds, and had an NCAA champ Brett Matter.
Then ZEKE JONES took over for a couple years before going to USAWR and Zeke produced a 2X NCAA champ Matt Valenti.
Eiter's results didnt measure up. Penn has similar advantages and situation as Cornell, so i am sure Penn alum were not accepting mediocrity now.

Just wondering... has Slay ever coached folkstyle? My only recollection of his coaching career is at the USOTC.

Not to my recollection. And I should have put a question mark. The FS gig has been filled. I was just thinking that if he wanted a (college) head coaching job he could apply for this one. Seems like a solid guy.

Slay did just put in a new deck at his house in Colorado according to twitter. Sounds kind of permanent to me.

the U of Penn answer is Damion Hahn, Matt Valenti or John Hughes if Slay declines. #bookemdano.com
