They tried getting the div2 nationals there and lost them. This is an amazing facility. The surrounding area is not developed enough to support major events. Although I think they have hosted a big ten volleyball tournament before. It is actually in Harpersfield, a rural farming community. Since I live there the lack of development suits me fine. Although it would be nice to attend major wrestling events right down the road. Double edged sword.

The Greater Cleveland Coaches and Officials held two large JV tournaments at Spire. The facility is larger than you can imagine. We had 6 mats set up and used about 1/3 of the floor space available for basketball or volleyball. There is a space on the other side that is the size of about 3 soccer fields. Additionally, there is a football field, an indoor and outdoor track, and an Olympic pool. These are the things I know about and there is likely more.
We moved the tournament this year because they were wanting FAR too much money for the use of the facility when we were attempting to raise funds for scholarships.
There are some hotel rooms at the RT 534 exit but there are a lot more about 5 miles east at Rt 45. There are a number of eating places nearby but like not enough for a major event.
I hope this works out for everyone. It would be great to have national class wrestlers training at the facility.
