Charrissa Chun won bronze against Irina Melnik-Merleni. Count on the women to bring home the first wrestling medal of this Olympics! :) Congrats and prayers for some more medals from the other women and freestyle guys!

Chun's been my Olympic crush for two cycles now, and it was good to see her break through. I think we are seeing the women's technique continue to elevate each year as more and more came up through the youth circuit. Chun is 30, so she isn't a great example of this, but her outside trip and arm throws are amongst the best in the business.

I said it years ago, but Terry Steiner has the right pieces for the puzzle. Obviously, a master technician, but low-key and big-picture enough to do it right. + Izzy. With a lot of our last generation of world-level women (Toccara Montgomery, Marcie Van Deusen, Alaina Berube) spread about the country coaching women's programs, I think the pipeline stays open.
