Discussion Topic: Thoughts and prayers to all in Chardon
Dan Cosimi added to this discussion on February 27, 2012
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Chardon and all of their students, parents, families, staff and everyone involved. What happened this morning is an unbelievable tragedy. The murderer, a currently-unnamed CHS student who is in custody, shot five classmates, one of whom passed away earlier today.

The child that died was former Beachwood and Hall of Fame wrestling coach Domenick Iammarino's grandson.
Prayers go out to all.

This is so strange because it is relatively in my back yard- really in Dan's back yard. What can you say when things like this happen? I feel awful for everybody involved.

Sad day for everyone... the victims, their families and friends, all the students, staff and alumni (including Lee Kemp). Also a sad day for any parent that sends their child off to school, hoping only that he or she comes home with a smile and story about what they learned that day.

Leo: Very true.
I was stationed in Colorado when Columbine happened. One of the parents of the victims overheard someone state that the kids were "at the wrong place at the wrong time." Her retort was similar to yours... "My child was at the right place. At the right time. My child is not guilty for these crimes."
I liked that. School should be a safe place.
