Last night I discovered that there was some ambiguity in how my contest scoring could be interpreted. I apologize. I made up the rules on the fly and had not clarified what I meant. So, here's how to figure out your score based on my intention.
Examples:
McDonough over Nicholson--1 pt for selecting a correct finalist but not the correct champ.
Robles over Precin--2 pts--correct champ but not both finalists.
McDonough over Robles--3 pts--correct finalists but wrong champ
Robles over McDonough--5 pts--Correct finalists and champ.
Unfortunately, because of my lack of clarity, there was another way to interpret the points.
Ex. If you picked Robles over Precin, you might have thought it was worth 3 points--2 for correct champ plus 1 point for correct finalist. That was not what I intended but I understand the confusion.
Still, as contest designer and sponsor (meaning it's my nickle that's paying for prizes and shipping), I intend to award points based on what I meant.
Unofficially, your champ is (drum roll, please...)
Sean Koran--27 pts--Congrats to him.
We had a two way tie for 2nd place--including tie breakers--between Christopher Sommers and Doug Brandt. Assuming this is correct, I will work out a way to break the tie.
I am currently at work and will re-check all point totals this evening. You are encouraged to total your points on your own as well. Please shoot me an email via private message or this email address: hkornblut@ohiowrestling.net if you believe there is a discrepancy.
I really appreciate all the participation.

Hank,
#1 - Thank you for doing this! It was an awesome contest and I really appreciate you doing this for our fellow forum members. You're the man!
#2 - We are still using our ohiowrestling.net email addresses but they are now automatically forwarded to our new gmail accounts because of gmail's superior capabilities (condensing, spam filtering, more universal accessibility).

Just tell me I beat my brother and Eddie Jayne, and I'll be a happy man.
Also, this was awesome. Seemed straightforward, even before the clarification of the rules, the participants were people we've gotten to know through this forum and, perhaps best of all, it was centered around wrestling and not some other sport that may or may not be holding TWO FRICKING TOURNAMENTS right now.
Thanks again.

Let's make sure we do it again next year. I got busy mid week and never had a chance to get my entry done, but I appreciates Hank putting it together and sponsoring it. Maybe a few more of us can kick in some prizes next year as well.

I stunk up the joint with my picks (14 pts) -- and, by the way, I can't stand watching 95% of the 285's wrestle.

I must admit, I did not watch the 285 finals. I think the last time I watched was when Tommy wrestled. Problem is Brady, we were little guys and just cannot relate to whatever it is those guys do :-o
