It's great to see a Kent wrestler from the Cleveland area in the finals. I thought Simaz would win fairly easily given how he was able to get in on Dustin's leg but instead it became a shootout. Congrats to Dustin.
It seems to me like he has a good chance to win. That would be fantastic.

Last year, a little of the "deer in the headlights" with Askren. This year, been there, done that. He never panicked. Should be a great final.

Per our awesome Records page, Kilgore is Kent's third ever finalist, and first since 1942. If he wins, he will be their first champ.

Kilgore flat out wrestled an amazing semifinal match- that was a classic as far as I am concerned. He is wrestling hot right now, and very energized. I don't see him losing tommorow.

It would have bee neat if Honeycutt made the finals also, but Wright wrestled like he is capable of this weekend.

I didn't get to see past the first period. Stupid ESPN in our area cut to NIT basketball!!!!!!!! I hate ESPN so much. It's either Robles or basketball.

I have seen and followed Dustin's career since the 8th grade. I have talked with him personally on several occasions and have found him to be a remarkable young man in all aspects. As a Kent alum he has made me proud. The schools first national champ ever, that's a pretty amazing story. Congrats!!

Kilgore's win just topped a wild and entertaining NCAA championship. Robles turns McDonough twice (wish I could have seen Brands face when it happened), Dake just rides & punishes a guy who almost beat him earlier in the year, Jenkins/Taylor pin, Borroughs lightning quick leg attacks, Reader gets redemption from past NCAA performances, Wright's comeback from a dismal year, and then Dustin becomes KSU's first NCAA Champion after coming so close the year before. Great stuff. We'll see how this will impact future recruiting at Kent.
