Perhaps Josh or another specialist can give his insight, but with a couple weeks left in the season these are the people in line for qualification.

Of the three designations, I did not review winning percentage mostly due to laziness.

Ohio State

Near locks:

Paddock (11 RPI, 20 coaches)
Sponseller (NR RPI, 8 coaches) (I assume not enough matches yet at 65 to qualify)
Heflin (15 RPI, 14 coaches)

Wrestlers with a good shot but some work to do:

Magrum (30 coaches)
Capone (27 coaches)

Kent

Near locks:

Bedelyon (14 RPI, 10 coaches)
Cathell (NR RPI, 16 coaches) (same as Colt on match total?)
Tice (22 RPI, 30 coaches)
Johnson (25 RPI, 26 coaches)
Kilgore (4 RPI, 5 coaches)
Barlow (19 RPI, 14 coaches)

Wrestlers with a good shot but some work to do:

Small (33 coaches)
Skonieczny (29 RPI)
Clopton (31 RPI)
Newburg (24 RPI)

Ohio

Near locks:

Lindsey (28 RPI, 19 coaches)
Purdue (23 RPI, 19 coaches)
Schuth (16 RPI, 17 coaches)
Johnson (23 RPI, 19 coaches)

CSU

Michaels (33 RPI, 32 coaches)

What about Touris? Does he have a chance to slip in with a good showing at the Big Ten tournament? Based on the posts here is seems as if he has been stepping up his game lately. I have not seen him wrestle yet though and I don't really know what the weight class is like in the Big Ten (I'm sure it's tough, its the Big Ten).

I'm probably the biggest Touris fan out there but he would have to place very well at the tournament to make it in.

He would have to take probably 5th or better to make it in. Touris in all honesty is just so much smaller in size than the other 125's in the Big 10.

Does anyone know (Ben Golden) what is going on with Paddock?

Touris has to place at Big Tens somewhere within the number of spots the conference has qualified for 125.

Indeed, the easiest way to qualify for nationals is by tourney placement. Each conference qualifies a certain number of spots for nationals. Wrestlers that place within that number automatically qualify.

I don't know for sure, but it always seems to be the shoulder injury with Paddock. He hurt it in HS, seems to ice it after all his matches, rubs it during matches...Just a hunch. That being said, I think they should RS Paddock next year, let the injury heal and let Triggas finish out his career at 133. I don't want to see him struggle with the weight his last season. Let him enjoy it. RE:Touris. If he wrestles with the fire he showed in the last period vs. Mich, he might be able to sneak out. Even undersized, there are some guys he can beat.

I don't know any more about Paddock than the next guy. I think he'll be back for Big 10's, though.
