Sounds like a good night of wrestling. No huge suprises. Great pin for Kilgore against Schuth.
I've stated previous that Kent simply has no weaknesses. They are a tremendous dual meet team.
Coach Andrassy was looking to create a great atmosphere, and it sounds like that was accomplished.
Good luck to both teams moving forward.

it was a great atmosphere - a lot of life in that gym, and the wrestling was great.
KSU just looked like they came ready to roll...even chase wrestled germaine very well (was 5-3 with a minute or so left, both neutral).
classy evening - any time KSU has a home meet, people should try and get there....very well worth the trip!!!
(and their strength coach is pretty cool too - thanks Bob!)

Thought Fred called a good match, also. Everything went pretty smooth. Nothing got out of hand.

Great interviews already going up on Flo. My initial reaction is that these are all great young men, from both teams.
Zeb - you are a great interviewer.

Congrats to Kent State on the win on Friday night. Their dual with CMU should be a good one. I think it would have looked a little different with Squire and Wojchik in the lineup for OU, however, it would not have made that much of a difference. I am still extremely proud of my Bobcats to be wrestling these meaningful duals in mid-February! Just another sign that Greenlee has them still heading up! And Kent, although I can't stand to say it, continues to improve as well. Andrassy is a heck of a coach, and as my brother has stated, there are no holes in this lineup. I will be rooting for the Flashes when the wrestle the stinking Chippewas!!!

My apologies but I was just corrected by my much wiser older brother that Wojcik did wrestle. The point still remains the same as before though!

Schuth looked very good until the timeout. Anyone know the extent of the injury because he was not the same wrestler when he continued?

Rex: I agree that Schuth looked good. The couple shots he took were very crisp, but even the takedown he scored didn't really seem to matter. I don't think he was mentally prepared for Kilgore's brutality. I have no idea what his injury was (I actually thought it was blood time watching it live because their didn't seem to be anything that would be injured). Maybe it was his arm from Kilgore's elbow chop? But that happened a few minutes earlier.

The pace Kilgore set was unreal. Even know he did not score a ton in the first half, he work very hard. Question, can he keep that pace for 7 minute? I've only seen him in person a couple time. Seem like he is in great cardo shape.

Shawn,
My first ever Big Ten match, years ago...Russ Hellickson came into the locker room after and asked to speak to me. I thought he was mad about something, but he sat beside me and said this:
"You will be a very good college referee someday, but only if you remember that this is college and not high school. These kids wrestle at an entire different level of physicality, and though you can never let a match get out of hand, you need to let them wrestle aggressively".
I have never forgot that, and once I let each wrestle know that they have stepped over or are on that line between aggressive and UNR....things tend to work themselves out.
