I like invitationals over tournaments. You electively select the teams with an invitational whereas any old bag can show up at a tournament.

Agreed, Rex.
One question: How does a program that does not have the clout like other teams, and has a coaching staff that has only been in place for just over three or four years, go about inviting teams?
I think if Eds ran a 16-man bracket styled tournament, people would flock given that it was Eds hosting the TOURNAMENT. 10 of those 16 could get invited to the Lesser Known High School Invitational and deny going...
I guess I'm asking, how do you get it going INVITATIONAL style, when you don't have the goods?

You run the best tournament in town. From organization to hospitality room. Everyone loves to be treated well.
Let's be honest. If you want the big dogs, you have to have big dogs or personal relationships with the coaches of those teams.

Mark I can't help you personally, but I hear the Cruiser Invitational has become the premier tournament in Central Ohio. You should look up who runs that and seek his advice.

Maybe send Urbas and Jordan a fruit basket at Christmas.

Jordan likes Pepsi... Perhaps I'll go that route.
Anyone know of Urbas' leaning in form of food or drink? Perhaps cigars, even.
