Discussion Topic: Third Annual MOAC Challenge youth/junior high wrestling tournament 2/13/2011 at Cardington
Larry Smith added to this discussion on February 5, 2011

The flyer is available on OhioWrestler.com and the OAC web site, also http://www.cardingtonwrestling.com/2011MOACChallenge.pdf

However, one change from the version of the flyer on the OhioWrestler.com and OAC web sites is that we will use six mats instead of only four.

This tournament is an OhioWrestler.com TOP 20 Point Scoring Event. This event is the primary fund raiser for the MOAC Wrestling Coaches Scholarship, a $1000 scholarship given each year by the MOAC coaches to a senior wrestler in the league who plans to continue his education after high school.

Wrestlers from little kids up through junior high are welcome to compete. For this tournament there will be NO pre-registration and NO called in weights or weigh-ins at other sites.

There will be an opportunity to weigh in and register for $15 between 2 and 4 PM on Saturday, February 12 at Cardington-Lincoln High School. This is during the MOAC league tournament. Tell the person at the admission table that you are there to register for the MOAC Challenge.

The day of the tournament (Sunday, February 13) you may register and weigh in for $20 between 7:00 and 8:30 AM. Please help us get started on time by having your entry form and payment turned in before the posted close of weigh-ins.

Large custom medals will be awarded to the top three wrestlers in each bracket. Weight classes will be determined the day of the tournament. Brackets will be round robin, five or six wrestlers per bracket as much as possible.

The youth and junior high wrestlers from the MOAC schools challenge those from everywhere else to come on over to Cardington for some great wrestling competition!

Even without pre-registrations we will still have great numbers. All nine of the MOAC schools which sponsor wrestling are committed to getting as many as possible of their youth and junior high wrestlers into the tournament. I have also heard from several other coaches who are planning to bring good-sized groups.
