When at a loss go to the age card, young whippersnapper."

You've pulled out the age card more than anyone on this site. You must be "at a loss" quite a bit.

I see you are conveniently ignoring (a) your lack of sense of irony, (b) your lack of understanding of tongue-in-cheek, and (c) your desire for the last word.

Whippersnapper!

Roe, can you give this kid a sense of humor?

Gary,
Didn't you catch that it's not the same person quoting your posts?

Wow Gary...tOSU is a lot of things, and yes, even imperfect, but quitters? Really? You have reached an all time low in stupidity with that comment. Did Michigan quit playing football when they lost to Appy State? I agree it was not pretty, but I did not suggest they should just scrub the season. Seems like that attitude is the exact opposite of the "golden generation" you claim to be a part of. Is there not a Michigan wrestling site that you can participate on in place of this site?"

Wow, you are either just really uptight and anal or don't know what tongue-in-cheek looks like.

Sorry, I didn't know you need to drink the Scarlett Kool-Aid to participate.

And where is Roe when you need him? It is nice to see a honk with a sense of humor."

Super Bowl party. . .and not sorry I missed this thread.

Gary you would be better served if they brought back the "emoticons" or whatever they are called. Sarcasm frequesntly is lost in posts like these, though I took the comment you made as I believed you intended. . .another shot at TOSU after a dreadful weekend.

I did see many of the positives pointed out above, like Capone and Vaughn.

What bothers me is that TOSU's freshman and sophomores seem to lack the fundamentals -- like positioning -- that Minnesota's freshman and sophomores have. Their youth do not seem as inexperinced as ours, if that makes any sense. Mat saavy, maybe?

Roe, you are probably right. Meanings often get lost in posts.

And yes, that was it. Just a 'friendly' dig.

No, I didn't. That is what I get for 'multi-tasking' during the game. :(

But the two of them can be so interchangeable in this regard. My bad!

Is that the same advise you gave your kids soccer team after going 2-14 for the year?

No. But they did not have honks posting glowing pre-season prognostications. They don't have fans who appear to lose sleep over their games.

And they are smart enough to recognize tongue-in-cheek comments.

One more than one occasion, I saw our wrestlers diving at the ankles with a) no set-up and b) no angle! What's up with that!?

It was driving me crazy in Magrum match when he would setup a nice shot and get in deep and then just stop wrestling and hold onto the leg while the other guy kept wrestling and he wasted all that energy after getting in on a good shot.

Amen, brother. Shooting to the leg or to your opponent won't result in much. Shooting through them, on the other hand...

Jake V.'s footsweep was sick!

YES! Me too, he easily could have won that match.

I thought Touris wrestled really well the first 2 periods.

I thought Vaughn wrestled really well the first 2 periods.

I thought Heflin wrestled really well the first 2 periods.

Hmmm......is there a pattern here?

I still think Nemec can be good, he shows flashes of it alot, but seems to not stay mentally focused the whole match.

Rex or anyone else who knows more than me (limit 10 please):

What is the best way to (1) score from an aborted straigh-on shot when the other party sprwls or (2) get the heck out of stuck down there. very common at the hgih school level and unfortunately too common with the Buckeyes this year.

Kemp and Johnson kept talking about the angles and I ge that. I think they are talking about not getting caught there in the first place, taking the shot, and getting out to the side.

I'm wondering what can one do to address the situation -- other than hope for a stalemate -- when you don't get in the right way..
