Simply amazing what he has done thus far as only a redshirt freshman. 22 of 23 matches have been bonus points. Closest match has been with Dong 9-3.

Scary thing is he's only one of the outstanding freshman on that team right now. Penn State is going to win an NCAA title before he graduates.

Probably many team titles before he graduates.

“The redshirt year at Penn State was huge for me,” Taylor said. “I kept working and I started adjusting to wrestling some of the bigger guys. I would have struggled if they would’ve put me in the lineup as a true freshman. I improved a lot when I redshirted. That year was real important for me.”

"Penn State is going to win an NCAA title before he graduates." ----yeh good chance its this year too with how young guys Taylor, Alton and Ed Ruth have come along.

these guys are all veterans of the Ironman, btw. All had very close matches here too.

Is Q. Wright going to be back in the lineup this year? Add him and Long and Molinaro to that lineup and they should have a good chance of winning it all.

Wright is scheduled to return to action against Pitt tomorrow.

Normally one might be concerned about wanting college primarily for wrestling. But his focus and goal-driven attitude are what seem to set him apart. He is a special wrestler.

And he's not like Mercalf who went to VT after saying how much he liked the engineering program. Taylor is clear he was going wherever Cael went.

And 5'11". Thats not the kid I saw at Ironman.

He and Jenkins might be my most anticipated match this year, if it happens. I think Taylor wins but the storylines would be great.

its the same kid, just older & bigger. He gave Logan Stieber his only hs loss there. Taylor was always a super star.

I smell a bromance!

But seriously though, if there was any doubt of Taylor's ability to compete at the next level--he has proven them all wrong... by completely dominating!
