I plan on doing a weekly article this season, reviewing and previewing big matches featuring Ohio's best at each weight class.

When I was in high school, I didn't follow college wrestling at all. I didn't really know or care about it, but now I realize that it's definitely worth following if you have access to it. So my goal with this is ultimately to spark HS wrestlers' interest in college wrestling, give them an informed idea of what to look for each week. Ideally, they get excited about Ohio college wrestling and dream about wrestling in Ohio colleges.

So anyway, this is part one of a season preview. Part two will come out Monday, and part three, Tuesday. My goal is to put my weekly articles out every Wednesday.

I hope you enjoy it, and honestly really want to hear all the feedback you're willing to give me.

Very good read. Link is on the front page. I'd consider renaming it NCAA Division 1 Ohio College Preview if you are going to focus on the D1 teams rather than the D2, D3 and NAIA.

Thanks, Dan.

I know what you're saying; I guess I was just trying to keep the title kind of short.

Good write-up. The "defector" stuff gets a little old. Like these athletes owe the state of Ohio something?

Hey! That's what I was mentioning when I posted about Chris Phillips!

Ok... my last comment. No, I don't think they owe us anything. I hope any high schooler, wrestler or not, goes where he's most comfortable. Now, I'd love to see as many Ohio guys stay in state as possible, but the reality is that's not all that many. I said defector repeatedly tongue-in-cheek for humor, but I see now that it didn't come off that way. Truthfully, I root for the Ohio guys no matter where they wrestle and am glad they are able to get their schooling paid for.
