But choice D doesn't contain Groveport Madison???
I think a full body of work from one of these schools is important, but a focus on the last 7, 10 or 15 years is essential.
Where is choice X? Eds, Graham and Kirtland???

I know this is a hypothetical, and an interesting question. But are there ADs out there who measure 'results' in terms of number of AAs and not team winning? Would they coincide? Probably. But it seems to be that would be a strange way to measure success rather than team accomplishments.

Gary: I understand your point. I set the criteria up a certain way because, as mentioned, there is a definite correct answer.
Question: How many of you have read Freakonomics?
I've been very busy at work and was exhausted last night. Tonight, barring anything too crazy, I will post the answer, including the research that went into it.
I appreciate the interest all of you have shown.

I have read that book Hank... and I THINK I know where you are going with this... I won't elaborate, but will amend my answer to C.
Of course I'm usually wrong... at least that's what my wife tells me.

looking at history Got to go with B. Walsh is always good, but they are never deep. Wads and Eds seem to have an endless supply of good kids, plus you have to look at grades. The kid has to be able to stay in school if he is going to wrestle for 4 to 5 years. It seems Eds and Wads programs are structured much like college programs. How many AA did walsh produce? I can think of only a few off hand in horning, musser, heskett

Looks like seven different wrestlers. I was lucky enough to watch them all.

My point is Eds has around 40+ AA. Not sure how many are Div 1 but I think most are. Depth is not an issue. I think their B team would place high at the state meet every year.
Also wrestling along with those mentioned Walsh studs there were a number of other top talent that did not reach the top ranks in the NCAA because they were not able to maintain the grades. (Out of respect, they will remain nameless. but from a wrestling stand point they were the cream of the crop)
My point is you need to be eligible to contribute to a team. and if I were limited to a couple schools, the deeper ones would be my pic.
I'm glad this is a hypothetical situation and coaches are not limited
