Quote from Jason L. Jackson's post:

"Really don't think Tavanello is OSU material, just my opinion of course. Wrong body type to gain too much weight, and no real high profile wins."

I'm not saying I don't think Tavanello is a great wrestler, I think he is. As far as high profile wins, I think it's easy to forget the kid is just entering his junior year. Wasn't he a Cadet AA?

Not many 215-pound fresh take third in the state of Ohio and win it as a sophomore. He's on track to be the best (most accomplished) 215-pounder in Ohio history. I see him a lot like Matt Koz from St. Edward. 3X champ, all at 215, but never seemed to find a weight class he belonged in while in college. Like Tavanello, Koz used strength, position and great mat sense, but didn't necessarily have overwhelming quicks.

They don't have anyone at 285 to replace Wade yet, do they?

hope im wrong but looks like no Fortune, i said that long ago, it never was a sure thing anyway.

looks like no Jamison either, 165 a big hole this year-- i said months ago could be a loooooooooong season with mostly unproven starters on team, looks that way more & more. s/BobP

The Graham kid who is a great fit, just too young is Huston Evans. Right weight, and great talent, but is only a rising junior.

Been wondering how this played out with these 4 guys - suppose Ryan knew the one was going to Wisky and that Phillips was not coming here, as was speculated on a lot here? so he tells Courts the $$ is his, and let the others know OSU was no longer interested?

After courts comitted, the other three went pretty quickly...just pure speculation on my part though.

JP,
Ohio st had the money for both of them-- McI and McC-- and wanted them. Ohio st wanted those 2 and Courts.

However, Ohio St perhaps not done yet, though McIntosh & McCauley are going elsewhere.

Courts is big get, smooth and explosive and hes a upperwt. Health questions have been raised, but i think he was worth it. s/BobP
