Ouch, this one hurts! If they stay healthy, PSU could win a National title with the likes of these new recruits. Taylor, Wright, Alton twins, Molinaro, Ruth, and now McIntosh. Wow.

It sure doesn't hurt when your coach is the only undefeated 4-time Division 1 wrestling champion on top of an olympic gold medal.

I was hoping the Bucks would land McCauley as a way of keeping pace with Okie State, Penn State and Iowa. Those schools have had some mind blowing recruiting of late. Bucks have also done very well but are probably a half step behind. Other schools--Wisconsin, Minny and Cornell come to mind--have also done very well. At the end of the day though no one can predict who will pan out, stay healthy, etc...
It still comes down to focus, hard work, determination, guts, etc...

I agree Hank, but Ohio State in a situation where we're competing against schools with established traditions of excellence (Iowa, Okie State, Minnesota) which have multiple NCAA championships under their banner. Ohio State has placed highly several times, but we haven't won an NCAA championship. We've only won one Big Ten Championship and that was years ago.
We're also competing against schools whose coaches have big time college/world credentials (John Smith, Tom Brands, and Cael Sanderson). Tom Ryan won two Big Ten Championships, certainly more than nearly all of us on the board, but he isn't a 4-time NCAA champ or someone that's won gold medals in world championships.
It'll be hard to challenge the likes of those teams for recruits, but we're certainly a lot better off now than we were before. We're fighting for team championships now. That's what help rope in the nationally elite talent.
