Per InterMat:
"Nick Brascetta (Graham, OH), who is ranked as the No. 26 recruit in the country, has given a verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. He projects at 141/149 in college. Brascetta becomes the third InterMat Top 100 recruit to commit to Virginia Tech this recruiting season ... and the second from Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio. "

What has he wrestled so far? 103, 112, 112??????
I just mentioned this thread to my brother and he asked the same question. And while yes, I could look it up, I am choosing not to. In fact, in the time it has taken me to write this response, I could have found the answer... Oh well.
In the meantime... how the ACC???????????????????

Md has a pretty good program, and UNC is recruiting like crazy in PA. Even NCState has at least one PA committ this year. Appears to be growing down there.

My bad... That was supposed to be "How ABOUT the ACC???" I have had a huge crush on the ACC for about 3 or 4 years.
And now Kolat is at UNC??? Dude, it just keeps getting better!

Virginia Tech must live in Ohio for recruiting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but their roster will now have:
Dong
Stephens
Mitch
Hightower
Stephens
Brascetta
Neibert
I'm sure to be missing someone, but this is a who's who list of Ohio wrestlers the past three years.

And Palmer as a coach. Only Tom Ryan has recruited Ohio big names better.

And Kent beat them in a dual last year, for what it's worth.

VT has recruited well in Ohio recently. The staff has done a good job getting a foothold in with both the Graham program and Burnett Trained Wrestling.
Kevin Dresser's second assistant is Nate Yetzer, an Ohio state tournament champion in 2000 earning All-American honors at Edinboro.
VT has done very well overall in recruiting the last few years. 13th for the Class of 2010, 8th for the Class of 2009.
Brascetta, Stephens, and Bubba Scheffel is the foundation for another highly ranked class (three InterMat top 100 recruits). Scheffel being an NHSCA Junior National champ from Maryland who plays QB for his high school football squad.
