I don't know too much about the foreign wrestlers, but I hear his draw is about as good as he could have hoped for a weight as tough as his is.

To see his bracket:

1) Go to this link:
http://www.FILA-wrestling.com/moscow10/index.php

2) Mouse-over the "Freestyle" menu and click on "Results." A bracket will come up.

3) There will be a drop-down menu on the right that says "55 kg." Select 96 kg from that menu.

PLIEV, Khetag (CAN)??? Not a very common name. Is this the same guy that walked through the Ohio State tourny hardly ever being in danger? I did not know he was Canadian?

You would think it's the same guy, wouldn't you? Isn't he related to Miron?

Bergman wins his first match in dominant fashion (4-0, pin).

However, the other two US wrestlers for today both lost to opponents against whom they were favored. J.D. is the last hope for America! ...for today at least.

Second Match:

Bergman was tied 1-1 in the first period, but the last guy had scored last so would have won. Tried to get a last second pushout but got thrown at the buzzer.

Bergman tries a body lock early in the second, but gets countered to his back for 4 points. Tries to fight back, but ends up losing the period 4-2.

That would be the same Pliev that wrestled for Lakota East.

Tough loss. An offensive style of wrestling and taking risks does not necessarily translate against athletes that are so focused on defense and counter wrestling.
