Working Title: Assistant Wrestling Coach

Salary Base: $23,700-$27,500

Work Schedule: Non-traditional hours
Basic Function: To assist in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and training the intercollegiate wrestling team. Reports to Head Wrestling Coach.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assist in coaching the wrestling team; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.
- Assist with the development of team strategy; analyze performance of student athletes.
- Scout and recruit student athletes.
- Assist in fund raising activities to subsidize athletic program; may assist in marketing and public relations activities to promote the program.
- Counsel and advise student athletes with personal and academic problems.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Leadership and Supervision
May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two to three years experience coaching wrestling. Or a combination of education and coaching experience equivalent to a total of six years.
Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations.
Skill in training or instructing student athletes; interpersonal communication.
Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions; travel and work non-traditional hours.
Must pass a security check.

Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Typically requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, keying, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Typically requires balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance sufficient to demonstrate, teach, and develop skills of student athletes.
Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building and off campus frequently.
