Walsh Jesuit seeks teams for the Walsh Kick-Off Duals on Saturday,
December 4, 2010 (first week of the season) at the Dome in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Interested teams should have a full dual-meet line-up (or very close to it). Primarily looking for D I, D III, or D II teams (that are not in the FIrestone District) to see some different programs.
This is an 8-team, dual meet tournament worth 2 points on your
schedule. Every team will be seeded and then will wrestle 4 dual meets
including a championship round for 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th place.
Awards will be given for the following:
1) TEAM: Championship and Runner-Up teams
2) Individual: tournament MVP
3) Individual: most pins / least time for an individual
4) TEAM: most-pins, team

Still a few spots: just received a confirmation from Davison HS, MI - which will make for a nice mix of teams. (Davison is the high school of B. Metcalf, P. Donahoe, J. Reader, etc.)

Someone on JJhuddle asked me to post the teams to give a better idea to coaches what they would be considering...I thought I would do the same here.
Currently the teams below are in the event (others are interested but not cemented just yet):
Team Division District
Walsh Jesuit D II Northeast
Davison (Michigan) D I Detroit-Area
Lexington D II Northwest
Marysville D I Central
West Jefferson D III Central
Midpark D I Northeast
It's a pretty solid field:
Walsh Jesuit, West Jefferson and Marysville all won District titles as a team last season - while each also finishing in the top 7 in the state.
Lexington was 2nd at Districts and 3rd in the State as a team.
Davison, MI has won the state title in Michigan at least 6 times, that I know of, in the big-school division under coach Roy Hall.
Midpark has a good tradition too and always some tough guys.
We expect to fill the last spots in the Duals fairly quickly. If we get 10 quality teams interested and able, we will consider doing two pools of 5 and everyone getting 5 matches - as long as our coaches in the event are all for it.
