Jon Reader was upset first round by Chris Brown. Important result because he and Colt were likely to meet in the quarters. While upsets are always a possibility, Colt is now in a much better position to make the semis. Important because doing so would earn him a much deserved AA honor (and get the monkey off his back).
In the bottom half, Nick Marable lost first round to Stanford so two of the top four seeds have lost.
Prediction--Alex Meade will upset Jarrod King and make the NCAA finals. he'll face the winner of Colt and Howe.
