Saw this on the NCAA site that posts on Face Book and thought I'd share it. Hoping for a full recovery. Did anyone see the injury happen?

Bishop stands, sends text messageEmail Print Comments 0Share27tweetAssociated Press

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Dan Bishop stood on his own for the first time as the University at Buffalo wrestler took the latest step in his recovery from a severe spinal cord injury.

Bishop stood for about 30 seconds and regained enough motor skills to send his first text message, the wrestler's father, Norm, said in release issued by the school Tuesday.

Bishop has been recovering at a hospital in Saginaw, Mich., since March 6. That's when he was hurt while competing in a Mid-American Conference semifinal match.

The senior from Whitehall, N.Y., sustained a fracture between two vertebrae and damage to a major artery.

His condition is improving so rapidly that doctors plan to transfer him to a rehabilitation hospital in Schenectady, N.Y., on Thursday.

Real happy to hear this...I saw him hit from the other mat and it wasn't pretty.
