Discussion Topic: Dustin Schlatter Injured, Will Default Out of the Big 10 Tournament

I guess Iowa reporter Andy Hamilton announced it via Twitter.
Coach J Robinson is confident he will get the wild card berth for NCAAs. If he's that injured, though, I don't know how good we can expect him to be...

From Minnesota's website:
"Dustin Schlatter (Massilion, Ohio) was seeded No. 1 when the pre-seeds were originally announced, but an injury during the week of practice has forced him to take a medical forfeit for the tournament in preparation for the NCAA Championships in two weeks. Knowing that Schlatter would be forfeiting his matches, the coaches decided to reseed the 157 bracket, leaving Schlatter unseeded. He will still weigh in and take the mat for his Pigtail match with new No. 1 Colton Salazar of Purdue, but will take the medical forfeit loss, leaving him eligible for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Omaha, Neb. Mar. 18-20."

Keep an eye on Cathell at Kent State. Matt was injured at practice this week and is questionable pending medical clearance and be ready to weigh in. Marcel Clopton will wrestle if Cathell isn't able to go per Jim Andrassy.

Funny you mention that. I had just looked at the MAC brackets a couple hours ago and was wondering what was up with it.

Feel bad for Cathell but I'm excited for Clopton to get a shot.

Hate to say it but Dustin's situation helps Nemec. He is capable of beating anyone left at the weight--possibly excepting Cyler Sanderson. A good weekend for Nemec would be big for the Bucks.

Well... Nemec lost his first round match to Jake Kerr. Honestly, he was in a great place to make the finals. After beating Kerr, he would have faced Salazar in the semis. Let's hope he comes out stronger in the consos!

This is the weakest Big Ten field in a long time. Many buckeyes still have a chance to do very well. I hope these guys wrestle well from here on out.
