Extremely dominant victory. Of course the Big Ten is a bit down from past years with so many of the teams loading up with redshirts for next year. I'm surprised Dave just demolished Brian Roddy like that, it's really showing some up-tempo wrestling out of him. And Palmer... wow, he's getting himself pumped up for that finals matchup with Metcalf.

Rella is looking as good as I've seen, finishing shots and not getting bellied-out when in on a leg. Morrison looked much better today than friday. It seemed to me that he had been coming around like Rella, but friday nights match was disappointing. I read on another thread that some thought Pucillo looked great on Friday and another thought he looked winded at the end of his match. I thought he looked to possibly be in some pain moreso than just sucking wind at the end of his match. Did not wrestle today. I hope he is okay. Humphrey looked great on Friday and recieved a forfiet today. Palmer and Sponseller are machines.

Don: Completely agree about Rella. I believe our forum friend Gary Corroto was prominently featured during Friday's telecast. Al Pucillo also looked good on the tube.
--Triggas had a 9 sec pin. How did it happen? Can someone elaborate?
--Palmer destroyed Nadhir. Last year Nadhir upset him at Big Tens. Wonder if that was on his mind en route to a 40 second pin over a ranked opponent?
--My no-nothing guess is that Pucillo is nursing an injury. He has big matches coming up with Dergo and Keddy.

I think those pins might be recorded wrong. I bet they ended with 9 and 40 seconds left in the first. Could be wrong, though.

Ben: It appears you're correct. Palmer and Triggas were obviously slacking.

I have Triggas recorded at 2:51 and Palmer at 2:20.
Great showing by my Buckeyes today...
Also agree about Jameson, his first 2 periods were the best two I have seen him compete this year..at one point, I have him with 4:25 riding time!
Paddock's match was upsetting, I feel he could have easily come through, but appeared to just run out of gas after 6:00.
Magrum's match at 197, while of course I'm going to say he had the takedown at the end because I'm 100% biased, overtime is ALWAYS exciting and his was no exception.
FYi--today's Lance's Birthday! What a great gift! Congrats to Palmer and all my fellow Buckeyes!

While I hope the team is at full strength because I would love to see us beat Iowa, I wonder if he is held out of one of those duals to keep him healthy for B10s and Nationals? As a senior I imagine he wants in.

If there's a decent risk of aggravating an injury, you would think they would sit him. But if not, I bet they wrestle him against Iowa. Ryan cares about dual meets, and they won't have a chance to beat Iowa (and thus winning the Big 10 dual title) without Pucillo in there.

Mike wanting in shouldn't matter, whats best for the team will decide if he wrestles.
While beating IOWA would be HUGE. It wouldnt compare to a National title.

I remember after the Michigan match Mike was coming off the mat toward the camera and you can detect a slight wince in his face, perhaps he tweeked something at the end of the match. Better to sit him vs Northwestern than risk injury.
BTW Rella appears to be peaking; excellent aggressive match from the start. Earlier in the season it seemed to take 2 periods before he started to really shoot TD's in earnest. Today was not the case.
