Great article! We need more of that.

On the subject of freshmen taking lumps, I'd be surprised if Jenkins wasn't taking it to Taylor. He's a college 149-pounder (who some say will be at 157) who was an NCAA runner-up and will be entering his fourth or fifth year, whereas Taylor was making a huge jump up just to wrestle at 135 pounds in high school this past season.

With Taylor's mindset and will to constantly improve, he's going to be a major force to be reckoned with in college. I'm not going to anoint him as an NCAA champion (yet) but it wouldn't surprise anyone bit if he does reach the top of the podium. Ruth will be excellent, too.

The rich get richer... Look for Penn State and Oklahoma State to be the top two teams during the next half-decade. I'm hoping the Buckeyes will be right there with them but on paper there's a lot of work to do to get there. (Luckily the matches aren't wrestled on paper.)
