This coming November, the Groveport Madison Wrestling Cruisers will play host to a pre-season tournament.
Currently, I am working on a flyer as I watch some Sunday football, but wanted to make the announcement for sure today.
One change for this year's tournament is that we will go three periods; the first neutral, the 2nd and 3rd with a wrestlers choice of up, down or neutral. (And yes, bitter, one of the wrestlers will have the choice to defer.)
Basic stuff - Weigh-ins will begin at 7:30am and go until 9am. I am currently talking with a couple of individuals to try to get some top-notch wrestlers to the Port for an hour clinic after weigh-ins. Wrestling will begin at 10am.
As always, we try our best to get everyone three matches. 1st through third will receive a medal and get to stand on one of the podiums I have built. I'm debating on [weather] to bring the Champion's Award (aka: The Bracket) or not.
Bare bones...
Novemeber 7th, 2009
Weigh-ins: 7:30am to 9am (Weight classes to be named on the flyer.)
Clinic: 9am to 10am
Wrestling: 10am to finish
Periods: Three (3), one-minute periods. Neutral, choice, choice.
Awards: Medals for the top 3. (And, you get to stand on one of the podiums!) Also, I might let you look at the champion's award for our varsity tournament on Jan. 30th.

- $12 for Senior High STATE QUALIFIERS
- $10 for ALL State Placers
- State finalists are FREE!!!
AWARDS: Top three in each weight class will receive a medal.
RULES: Three (3), one (1) minute periods; wrestler’s choice in the 2nd and 3rd period.
ADMISSION: $2 for spectators (Kids under 12 are free.)
